Scholarship Flight Training taking applications

| April 24, 2006 9:00 PM

SANDPOINT — Scholarship Flight Training is taking applications for its summer flight program for teens.

A private pilot course starts June 1 for teens who are 17 or will be by Nov. 1. Applications are due Tuesday, May 9.

Teens train in the school's new aircraft and receive a pilot's license by fall, which can add loft to a student's college application. It's also a great way to learn about career opportunities for pilots and skills which can be used for the rest of students' lives.

Scholarship Flight Training also has a one-week introductory program for 12- to 16-year-olds. They would fly a Diamond trainer every day, attend ground school and learn to fly radio-controlled, gas-powered model airplanes.

For more information or to download an application, visit Scholarship Flight Training on the Web (www.aviationed.org) or call 610-0868 to sign up.
