| April 27, 2006 9:00 PM

SANDPOINT — The Coeur d' Alene Vikings, arguably the best team in the area, including Spokane, took down the host Bulldogs 9-3 Thursday afternoon at Travers Park.

Cody Helander won at No. 1 girls singles, and two Bulldogs doubles teams continued their undefeated seasons.

Abby Helander and Jessie Novak won a taut match at No. 1 girls doubles.

"They pulled it out," said coach Jane Rockwell. "They buckled down in the tie breaker; it was a closely contested match."

Justin Zirwes and Ryan Williams have also yet to lose as a team at No. 2 boys doubles, winning easily in straight sets.

"They played strong at the net," said Rockwell. "Their serves were on and they moved really well on the court together."

Sandpoint hosts Lewiston on Wednesday.
