Wallace Emil 'Wally' Erickson, 82

Wallace Emil "Wally" Erickson, 82, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2006, at his home in Clark Fork, Idaho.

A celebration of life will be held at noon, Saturday, Aug. 19, 2006, at the United Methodist Church in Clark Fork with Pastor Mark Wendle officiating.

Wally was born on Jan. 2, 1923, in Trail, British Columbia, the son of Helmer and Henny (Mark) Erickson. He grew up and attended schools in Clark Fork and graduated from Clark Fork High School.

He worked in the mines around Clark Fork following high school.

Wally and Arlene Anderson were married April 12, 1944, in Clark Fork, prior to serving his country with the U.S. Navy during World War II in the South Pacific.

He returned to Clark Fork, Idaho and operated the Texaco Service station and the Coffee Shop for many years. He then worked for the Bonner County School district as a bus driver and custodian for 20 years and had also worked for the Idaho Fish and Game Department.

Wally's hobbies were hunting, fishing and his grandchildren, (the joy of his life).

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Arlene Erickson of Clark Fork; a daughter, Gail (Herb) Douglas of Portland, Ore.; a son, Curtis (Terri) Erickson Spokane, Wash.; a sister-in-law, Shirley Erickson of Clark Fork; five grandchildren, Patrick, Marin and Kirsten Erickson of Spokane, Wash., and Kaitlyn and Scott Douglas of Portland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Wally was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, a brother and a nephew.
