Robert Francis 'Bob' Benanti, 77

Robert Francis "Bob" Benanti, 77, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho, on August 13, 2006.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2006, in Coffelt's Funeral Chapel. Father Carlos Perez, St. Joseph's Catholic Church will officiate with interment following later in Florida.

Bob was born on March 29, 1929, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the son of Italian immigrant parents.

He entered the U.S. Marine Corp at the age of 18, serving for 26 years and earning numerous achievement awards, medals and citations.

After retiring from the Marine Corp he entered the business world in professional sales. He worked in the import/export business, for a computer chess games firm.

In 1984, he retired to North Idaho to build his "log cabin," where he lived for 22 years.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine Benanti of Sandpoint; two children, RobertBennett of Hawaii and Flourette Devault of Florida; and a granddaughter, Terri Devault of Vermont.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Coffelt Funeral Service of Sandpoint.
