Dorothy Jean Farmin, 73

Dorothy Jean Farmin, 73, lifelong resident of Sandpoint, Idaho, passed away, Sunday, Aug. 20, 2006, at the Farmin cabin on Lake Pend Oreille.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006, at the First Presbyterian Church in Sandpoint.

Dorothy was born in Sandpoint, Idaho, on Jan. 12, 1933, to Clifford and Irma (Thomas) Warren. She graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1951, and went on to receive a bachelor degree in elementary education from the University of Idaho in 1956.

Dorothy married Bob Farmin on Dec. 27, 1954, at the First Presbyterian Church in Sandpoint, where the couple remained lifelong members. She is also a member of P.E.O., past member of Beta Sigma Phi, and volunteer for the Bonner General Hospital Auxiliary.

Dorothy had a close and loving relationship with her family, and taught her children to water ski, snow ski, and drive. She enjoyed playing the piano, knitting, sewing, and golfing.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Bob Farmin of Sandpoint; her mother, Irma Warren of Sandpoint; two sons, Dan (JoAnne) Farmin of Newport, Wash., and Rob Farmin and Becky Stevens of Priest River, Idaho; two daughters, Cindy (Dave) DeMers of Sandpoint and Kris (Scott) Salesky of Priest River; two sisters, Lois (Harley) Gunter of Sagle, Idaho, and Velma (Gary) Wescott of Sagle; a sister-in-law, Ellamae McClelland of Sagle; a brother-in-law, Ted (Judy) Farmin of Sandpoint; and 12 grandchildren, Kelly and Ryan Farmin; Eric, Brooke, and Alexis DeMers; Erin and Max Salesky; Hailey and Hayden Farmin; and Lacey, Melissa, and Dallas Hopkins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clifford "Tip" Warren; and a brother-in-law, Jim McClelland.
