Walter Ray Brown Jr., 62
Walter Ray Brown Jr., 62, owner and operator of "Mr. Sub", passed away on Monday, Aug. 21, 2006, at his home in Dover, Idaho, after a very long battle with cancer.
A celebration of life will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006, at the Lakeview Funeral Home with military rites following the service.
Walt was born in Riddle, Ore., on June 4, 1944, the son of Walter and Juanita (Polley) Brown Sr.
He grew up in Oregon and attended schools, graduating from Riddle High School. He studied education at Oregon State University and later served his country in the U.S. Army.
Walt was a lumber Broker, commercial fisherman and owner of several restaurants. In 1983, Walt moved to Sandpoint and opened "Mr. Sub."
His hobbies included fishing, hunting, skeet shooting, boating, Texas Hold-'em and bowling.
Survivors include his life partner, Beth Evans of Dover, Idaho; his children, Mike (Dara) Brown of Sandpoint, Idaho, Steven Brown of West Virginia, Marlene Dosher of Laclede, Idaho, Tamara Wescott of Seattle, Wash., Tom and Diane Evans of Dover, Brett Kristi Evans of Dover, and Myra and Ron Darty of Post Falls Idaho; his grandchildren, Devon, Alex and Brianna Brown of Sandpoint, Jonathon Barksdale of Laclede, Nolan and Kella Wescott of Seattle, Amber and Dana Evans of Dover, Emma and Makenna Evans of Dover, Nikki and Jeremy of Post Falls; a brother, Edgar C. Brown of Eugene, Ore.; and sisters, Carmelita Wilkinsen of Myrtle, Ore., and Sue Wasson of Reedsport, Ore.
He will be missed by his family and many friends.
