Who is making a profit from gas sold in Sandpoint?

| December 4, 2006 8:00 PM

As the Daily Bee reported in the Nov. 18 paper, Mr. Frank Brunell, chairman of the Idaho Transportation Board, suggest raising the price of gasoline again. That is a bunch of bunk. What's the deal here anyway, did he give himself and his staff a raise or what?

Hey Mr. Brunell, why not have every gallon of gasoline sold in the state of Idaho sell for the same price at the retail level? This way everyone would be paying exactly the same price for gasoline and you would not need the 6 percent sales tax you have proposed. Last week I paid $2.17.9 a gallon for gasoline in Hayden at an Exxon station and yet the same gasoline in Sandpoint was $2.46.9 as it was at every station I checked. Why is that? Who is making the extra 29 cents a gallon off of Sandpoint and surrounding area residents?

Maybe everyone who buys gasoline should just drive a few minutes more and fill up in Hayden instead of Sandpoint.
