Bulldogs run record in duals to 3-0
SANDPOINT — Sandpoint's Jerod Morris made quick work of another opponent, getting a pin in less than a minute for the third consecutive match, as Sandpoint tallied five pins en route to a 57-21 dual meet victory over Colville Thursday at Sandpoint High School.
James VanEssen (119 pounds), Darren Thompson (140), Kyle Meschko (152) and Taylor Morris (189) all had pins in relatively quick fashion.
"It went about like we expected," said Bulldogs' coach Mike Randles. "Guys have been paying their dues, and now it's paying off."
The match served as the final tune-up before the prestigious Tri-State Meet in Coeur d'Alene next weekend. a decent number of Bulldogs figure to be major players at the meet, including Thompson, who impressed Randles with his match against Colville.
"Darren looked especially tough tonight," said Randles. "He attacked from the top and never let there be a moment when he's resting."
