Louis Willard 'Parky' Parquette Sr. 89

Louis Willard "Parky" Parquette, Sr., 89, passed away in his sleep on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Funeral services will be held on at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006, at the Sandpoint Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 2255 W. Pine Street, Sandpoint, Idaho. A private burial will be held at Pinecrest Memorial Park Cemetery.

Parky was born on March 9, 1917 to Louis Napoleon and Lula May Parquette in Coronado, Calif.

Parky served during the war years in San Diego installing instruments into panels on the PBY amphibious aircraft. After the war he fulfilled his boyhood dream of becoming a fireman. Working from 1950 through 1972, he retired as the first elected fire marshall of the city of Lakeside, Calif.

After his retirement he devoted most of his time to visiting the sick and elderly who were unable to get out and attend church or social events, sharing with them the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

His other interests included nature photography and easy road trips with his wife Louise. He also had a love for electronics and anything radio related.

Parky was preceded in death by his wife Louise of 69 years of marriage who passed away Oct. 13, 2006. Now together they are resting in Christ waiting for His return.

He will be greatly missed by his surviving family of his son Louis Willard "Chip" Parquette Jr. and his wife Joyce of Dayton, Ohio, his eldest daughter Deana Herrington and her husband Lloyd of Braunfels, Texas, and his youngest daughter Ginger Wyborny and her husband Craig of Sandpoint, Idaho. Also missing their grandparents are seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services are entrusted to the care of Coffelt Funeral Service.
