Isabel Brown Hederich, 81
Isabel (Preston) Brown, daughter of Charles John Preston and Mary Lucy (Barker) Preston was born in Harbor Springs, Mich., on Sept. 14, 1925, and died Dec. 6, 2006, in Sandpoint, Idaho.
Memorial services will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 26420 Highway 2 (at Rocky Point Rd.), Sandpoint, Idaho on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006 at 2 p.m.
She was raised a Methodist by her loving parents. Her childhood was spent in Prophetstown and Rockford, Ill.
She became a registered nurse in 1949 and on Aug. 19, 1950, she married Harl Delmar Brown Jr. in Los Angeles, Calif. They had four children: Alan, Renee (Irene), Christine, and Susan.
After an extensive study of the Bible, Isabel decided to become one of Jehovah's Witnesses and was baptized May 18, 1957.
In 1968, the family moved to Sandpoint, where she worked at Bonner General Hospital.
The couple divorced in 1971. Later Isabel worked at the Sandpoint Manor, now called Valley Vista.
She took care of her ailing father for 10 years, prior to his death in 1985. In 1990, she moved to the Seattle area and married Theodore Hederich. He passed away in 2005, so she moved in with her daughter and son-in-law, Robert and Renee Hafterson of Sandpoint.
Isabel is preceded in death by her parent; sister Beverly Whittington Beal; brother Richard Preston; and grandson Robert Brown.
She is survived by her four children, Alan and Donna Brown, Renee and Robert Hafterson, Christine and Joseph Tonini, and Susan and Gregory Elliott; six grandchildren, Stacy Emswiler, Trista Gormly, Douglas and Kevin Elliott and Scott and Jennifer Hafterson; four great-grandchildren, Ashia and Bryce Emswiler, Michael Myers and Meadow Hafterson; plus one on the way soon, Zothea Gormly.
Isabel will always be remembered for her tireless empathy and giving spirit. She was an excellent wife and the best mother anyone could hope for. She died peacefully at home of leukemia while being attended by her adoring family. She looked forward to a resurrection on a paradise earth Jehovah God will provide through his kingdom by Christ Jesus.
We would like to thank all the friends who called, visited and provided food.
A special thank you to Lucy McPherson and all the hospice staff for their loving care and support.
