Cats fall to West Valley

NEWPORT — Bailey Hewitt scored 12 points to lead Clark Fork as the Cats fell 64-32 to West Valley of Spokane on Saturday at the Newport Tournament.

Megan Hess and Shaina Gustafson each scored six as the Cats (2-7) struggled to get their shots to fall.

"West Valley was quick and they pressed a lot," said coach Dexter Vogel, who said his team is getting decent looks at the basket. "The girls are coming along, eventually the shots will start to fall."

The Cats will get plenty of time to work on things before the heart of their league schedule, which resumes on Jan. 4.
