Jodeyn Ann Westfall, 81, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

Jodeyn was born on Feb. 19, 1925, in Buffalo, N.Y., where she grew up and attended schools. She was the daughter of Joseph and Stella (Pintka) Norwich.

In 1943 she served with the WAVS for a couple of years and was honorable discharged. She moved to Newark, N.J., where she worked at St. Barnabus Hospital.

It was at the hospital she met her future husband Richard Westfall, who was a patient there.

Jodeyn married Richard on July 3, 1949, in Newark, N.J. and they enjoyed 53 years of marriage together.

They moved to the outskirts of Washington, D.C., attending nursing school and then moved to West Covina, Calif., in 1956 where she worked in hospitals and doctors' offices until 1975.

Upon retiring she moved to Palm Desert, Calif., where she worked at Eisenhower Hospital part time for the next 15 years.

In 2002 she and Richard moved to Sandpoint, Idaho, to be closer to their daughter, Ellen.

She and Richard enjoyed spending the summer months in Oregon near Lincoln City for 12 years.

Jodeyn was an avid golfer, and gourmet cook who loved to read and entertain.

She is survived by her daughter Ellen Westfall of Hope, Idaho; son John Westfall of Salem, Ore.; sister Mary Baltz of Phoenix, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her husband Richard in 2002 and her brother Norman Norwich.
