Doris Arlene (Mostek) Evans, 76, passed away on Friday, Feb. 3, 2006, in Dover, Idaho.

A potluck gathering will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006, at the Dover Community Hall in Dover.

Doris was born on April 6, 1929, in Scotia, Neb., the ninth of 10 children born to Charles and Sophia (Pejor) Mostek.

Doris was baptized on April 7, 1929, into the Catholic faith at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scotia.

The Mosteks moved from Wyoming sometime after 1933 to Bonner County, Idaho. Doris graduated from Sandpoint High School on May 21, 1948.

She married Kenneth Arthur Evans on May 7, 1949, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Sandpoint, Idaho. They had four children — Janice, Judith, JoJean and Wayne.

Doris was a homemaker, her interests were bowling, gardening and berry picking. She was a lifelong member of the Dover Stitch and Clatter Club and served for many years on the Dover election board. She also worked at the Senior Thrift Shop in Sandpoint for many years.

Her caretaker for the last four years was her granddaughter, Christina Carroll.

Doris is survived by her four Children, Janice Evans Perrodin of Breaux Bridge, La., Judith Evans Carroll of Davenport, Fla., JoJean Evans Dillon of Sandpoint and Wayne Evans of Vancouver, Wash.; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren

Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Ken Evans, on Feb. 6, 2002; and her nine brothers and sisters.

Memorial donations may be made in Doris' name to the Senior Thrift Store, 806 Lake St., Sandpoint, Idaho 83864.
