Stabbing victim isn't talking

SANDPOINT — Bonner County Sheriff's deputies attempting to investigate a stabbing late Tuesday are getting no help from the 31-year-old victim.

"The victim refused to give us any information" Lt. Doug Harris said on Wednesday.

The man turned up at Bonner General Hospital at about 10:30 p.m. with a 5-inch gash on his right calf, Harris said. He was reportedly uncooperative and intoxicated.

The victim refused to say who cut him, where it happened or how he even made it to the hospital. Harris said deputies are encouraging him to talk about the incident, but the man has so far declined.

"We can't force people to file a complaint," Harris said. "If they tell us to go pound sand, there's not much we can do."

A deputy and a Sandpoint officer went to a home in the 200 block of Railroad Avenue in Dover on a hunch the stabbing occurred there, but Harris said nothing was found.
