Bonners Ferry dominates opening day of state
POCATELLO — Bonners Ferry was utterly dominant in the opening round of the 3A Idaho State Wrestling Tournament in Holt Arena Thrusday , winning all ten of their opening matches, many in dominant fashion.
David Tritt (135), Adam Hall (152), Ken Swift (152), Don Dinning (189) and Ben Turner (215) all recorded pins, including Hall's in a mere 13 seconds. Jozef Musial (171) won by technical fall, and Dayne Swisher (130), David Hayes (140) both recorded major decision. Jeremiah Solt (112) and Jared Stone (275) both won decisions.
The Badgers are hungry to try and win a state title for their long-time coach Conrad Garner, and they're off to a splendid start.
? Kelly Miller (145) and Mike Ramsay (171) both recorded pins in the opening round for Priest River, and Richie Morales (140) also won his opening match. Ray Hinshaw (160) and Matt Tompkins (215) both lost their opening match and then won their second in the consolation. Caleb Nichols (103), Mitchell Grove (103), Daniel Rasmussen (119), Justin Lopez (130) and Sean Williams (145) all lost both of their matches on Thursday.
