| January 6, 2006 8:00 PM

CLARK FORK — Freshman Bailey Hewitt led Clark Fork with 14 points, four assists and three steals as the Cats beat visiting Lakeside 44-24 Friday night in North Star League action.

Wynonna Johnson led the Knights (5-7, 1-3) with 10 points and Rian Miller and Vicky Sifford added four apiece. A 14-2 first quarter deficit proved too much for the Knights to overcome.

Jolene Meredith had six points and 10 rebounds and Rashell Trunnell had nine points to go along with eight boards as the Cats (2-8, 2-2) played their most complete game of the season.

"We've been playing great for two or three quarters, and tonight we finally put a complete game together," said Cats' coach Mark Stevens.

Clark Fork point guard Bailey Hewitt is starting to get a handle on running the team in her first year of varsity action.

"She's a very good player who's fast and hustles to the ball," said Stevens. "It's taken time for her and the seniors to get used to each other and it's finally starting to click."
