| January 9, 2006 8:00 PM

Zackary D. Owens, 20, of Spirit Lake, Idaho, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2006.

Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2006, at the Athol Community Center.

Zack was born June 22, 1985, in Sandpoint, Idaho, the son of Duane and Debra (Bird) Owens. He lived his entire life in the Spirit Lake community. Although he was home schooled he was very well known by the members of his community. For the past three years he worked in the family-owned espresso stand. He loved working with his family and cherished the time they spent together. While working at the stand, Zack was able to meet and touch many lives in the short three years he had been there.

He was an avid video game collector as well as guns and coins. He had a deep love for oriental design, including origami. Although Zack's hobbies were important to him, his family was his true love.

Zack is survived by his parents, Duane and Debra Owens at the family home in Spirit Lake; his brother, Curtis Owens, and sister, Shelby Owens, both of Spirit Lake. He is also survived by his grandmother, Jewel Owens of Victorville, Calif., and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Willet and Alta Lorene Bird, and his grandfather, Curtis Thomas Owens.

Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Priest River is in charge of arrangements.
