Sandpoint takes down Kellogg wrestlers

| January 11, 2006 8:00 PM

SANDPOINT — Fresh off their Inland Northwest wrestling championship, Sandpoint took down visiting Kellogg 56-20 in dual action Wednesday night at Les Rogers Court.

The Bulldogs tallied five pins to go along with three forfeits as they ran their duals record to 4-1 on the young season.

Head coach Mike Randles had high praise for two of his freshman wrestlers, Sid Winter and Jacob Porter, both of whom gained valuable varsity experience.

"Sid stepped up to the plate and delivered for us," said Randles of his 125 pounder, who pinned his opponent in under a minute. "And that was the best Jacob Porter has ever wrestled."

The Bulldogs will wrestle at the Madison Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
