Viola V. Vlasak, 89, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho, on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2006.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 24, in Coffelt's Funeral Chapel. Pastor Steve Nickodemus, Christ Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, will officiate.

Viola was born on March 1, 1916, in British Columbia, Canada, the daughter of James Frank and Anna Vlasak.

In 1936, the family moved to Copeland, near Bonners Ferry, Idaho, where her father worked for the railroad.

She attended Boundary County schools and became an American citizen.

Viola worked as a waitress in Don's Cafe in Bonners Ferry, and later for the Pastime Cafe in Sandpoint.

She loved to bowl and participate in league bowling.

She is survived by a sister, Lillian of British Columbia; three nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Coffelt Funeral Service of Sandpoint.
