Harvey Jay McPherson, 97

Harvey Jay McPherson, 97, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho, on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2006.

Private family services will be held later.

Harvey was born in Rhinelander, Wis., on Feb. 29, 1908, the son of Jay and Hazel McPherson. He married Martha Dexter on Oct. 21, 1932, in Petoskey, Mich.

He lived in East Jordan, Mich., where he farmed and later drove school bus for many years. In 1972, he moved to the Sagle area and lived in the Alpine Trailer Court for 20 years.

He enjoyed his family and hand carving wooden ducks, which he gave to family and friends.

He is survived by three children, Dean McPherson of Ottawa Hills, Mich., Gene McPherson of Dover, Idaho, and Coral Sippel of Petoskey, Mich.; 10 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a sister.
