MOSCOW — Ahleigh Mire erupted for 12 of her 16 points in the fourth quarter as the Bulldogs shut down the Bears 40-36 in Inland Empire League action in Moscow Tuesday night.

"Ashleigh and Brittany Oakley were great on the perimeter tonight," said coach Jim Alsager. "Oakley held their best player to six points, 14 less than last time we played, and we sort of wore them down."

Oakley added 12 points to go along with her stellar defense, and ran the point guard in the fourth quarter, setting up Mire for some good looks as the Bulldogs (8-12, 4-8) were able to put away the back and forth game.

The Bulldogs will play Moscow (8-11, 7-5) again on Friday, as they open the 4A District playoffs at Lake City.
