Rose Ellen Tope, 72

Rose Ellen Tope, 72, passed away in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2006.

Memorial services will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2006, in the Sagle Baptist Church. Pastor David Hess will officiate.

Rose was born in Fillmore, Calif., on Sept. 5, 1933, where she attended local schools. She also lived in Sanger and Modesto, Calif.

She worked as a fruit inspector for the state of California in the Central Valley area.

On June 21, 1980, she married Jim Tope in Oakdale, Calif., and moved to the Careywood area in 1989. She enjoyed fishing for bluebacks on Lake Pend Oreille, reading and raising flowers.

She attended the Sagle Baptist Church, was a member of the TOPS club in Athol and the Coeur d'Alene bowling leagues.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Tope of Careywood, Idaho; seven children, Robert Franck of Forest Hill, Calif., Michael Franck of Turlock, Calif., Debra Howard of Sonora, Calif., Terri Jeremy of Oakdale, Calif., Elaine Tope of San Anselmo, Calif., Shirley Salter of Modesto, and Teresa Tope of Sonoma, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a brother, John Couch of Roseburg, Ore.; and a sister, Billie Andrae of Boise, Idaho.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ace and Millard; and a sister, Lorene.
