Mountain bike series rides on

| July 3, 2006 9:00 PM

With Ken Barrett of All About Adventures, Inc. retaining the title sponsor, colorful SISNA posters announcing that the 7th Annual mountain bike series is happening and that Farragut State Park will be the new event location have sprouted up from Sandpoint to Spokane. This year will have more classes of bikes and for kids there will be two courses, one for those 8-13 and another grass track for the young rippers 7 and under. Barrett is pleased to add that participants will now be able to swim and shower at the new post-ride party venue: Waterford Marina's Vista Bay, right on the Lake Pend Oreille shoreline!

The races are Wednesday evenings in July 5, 12, 19 and 26 from 4:30-6:30 p.m.

Mountain bikers will follow a mapped and marked single-track trail for their own loop and cumulative times. Results will be handed out each evening at the post-ride party and both top individuals and teams will be singled out for some recognition.

To encourage all levels of mountain biking enthusiasts to participate, the event staff will be looking for the individuals and teams who make the most honest improvement in lap times along with showing the most camaraderie/event spirit and reward them for their efforts. Costumes and themes are sure to receive good attention! All full-series registered riders also receive a series commemorative gift.

Each night includes a post-ride party on the lakeside at Waterford Marina's Vista Bay location featuring a "participant only" drawing for hundreds of dollars worth of sponsors' gifts from Sandpoint Sports, Mt. Baldy Ski Resort and Mt. Baldy Professional Center/Todd M. House DDS, Laughing Dog Brewing, Mountain View Cyclery and Eichardts. The party hosts are sprucing up their Hudson Bay Road lakeshore location, which is within a bike ride of the event's hub at Farragut's Flyers Field and will serve a scrumptious, healthy buffet-style spread and offer a full bar of drinks. Possibilities are good that 95.3 KPND Progressive Radio will be sending some of their radio jocks to ride and do a live-remote broadcast.
