SANDPOINT — Sheriff's detectives from Bonner and Pend Oreille counties teamed up to shut down an interstate burglary spree.

Bonner County Sheriff's Det. Tony Ingram joined detectives in Pend Oreille County, Wash., on June 30 to investigate burglaries. The investigation resulted in the arrest of two suspects and the recovery of numerous stolen items, Bonner County Sheriff's officials said on Wednesday.

Ingram obtained an extraditable warrant for Karmin Lea Benham, 38, of Newport, Wash. At the time of her arrest, Benham was in possession of property reported stolen during a burglary in the Priest River area.

A second suspect, 38-year-old Pend Oreille County resident Frank Cunningham Jr., was arrested by authorities in that county. Sheriff's deputies here said stolen property was also discovered at Cunningham's home.

Teamwork between the two agencies is being credited for the arrests and resolution of three burglary complaints.
