Job well done on Wooden Boat Show

| July 10, 2006 9:00 PM

Bravo to the many volunteers who brought the Wooden Boat Show to Sandpoint last weekend.

From the Sandpoint Rotary Club that finished the steps to the boardwalk to Chamber of Commerce members who sat on a dunk tank, the two-day celebration has all the makings of something that could be uniquely Sandpoint for a long time.

The Downtown Sandpoint Business Association also needs to be commended for carrying out the pirate theme throughout downtown.

The free showing of the Pirates of the Caribbean at the Panida was also a great idea.

The annual Wooden Boat Show this year was the perfect mix of civic pride, pride of ownership and fun. It's a winning combination.

Here's hoping the wooden boats continue to grace Pend Oreille every year. Here's also hoping the DSBA, the chamber, Sandpoint Rotary continue to make the effort to give this region one more signature event.

Ahoy! We'll see you all next year!
