Bonner General golf tourney tees off Friday

| July 11, 2006 9:00 PM

Calling all golfers. This Friday is the ninth annual Bonner General Hospital Golf Tournament. This year, we're going to "chip in for cancer" at Stoneridge Resort and all proceeds benefit the new North Idaho Cancer Center, Sandpoint Clinic.

Too many of our area residents suffer from cancer and the North Idaho Cancer Center, Sandpoint Clinic will provide accessible treatment and care close to home. Located in Bonner General Hospital, the Clinic will open this fall.

Chapman Financial Services, DBA Sandpoint Adjustment Bureau is our generous Title Sponsor again this year and BGH is very happy to have their support for such a worthy cause. Many thanks also to Kootenai Medical Center, Panhandle State Bank, Coldwater Creek, Yellowstone Insurance Exchange, and the offices of Elsaesser, Jarzabeck, Anderson, Marks, Elliott, an McHugh, for their participation and support.

This year's event promises to be a great one, with prizes donated by many area businesses. After a fun day on the green, burgers and drinks will be waiting for you at the end of your round. We have a four-wheeler from Sandpoint Marina Shop and Motor Sports as a hole-in-one prize, and festival tickets, Schweitzer lift tickets, gift certificates to Sandpoint area restaurants and retail businesses, a tabletop barbecue and lots of other treasures.

Even better news is that we still have room for players. If you love to golf, why not enjoy one of your favorite summertime activities while benefiting a good cause in our community.

The BGH Golf Tournament will be held at Stoneridge Golf Course this Friday, July 14. Check-in is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and tee off is at 1 p.m. In addition to the hole-in-one contest, there will also be a putting contest and other games on the course. If you'd like to play, call Nikki Luttmann at 265-1123. See you there.
