Kinderhaven's 'extreme' makeover is well deserved

| July 13, 2006 9:00 PM

How cool is the "Extreme Team" makeover at Kinderhaven?

About as cool as you can get, in my opinion.

A group which gives unselfishly to our community's most vulnerable — our children — by creating a loving, safe sanctuary for abused and neglected children, was picked to receive a "mini makeover." Crews involved makeover — coordinated by Sullivan Homes, Tomlinson Black and KXLY-TV — are sprucing up the outside of the facility and redoing the landscaping.

The team has already done about a half-dozen makeovers in the region, which have been televised on KXLY.

The community is invited to an unveiling of the makeover at 6 p.m. today at Kinderhaven, located at 900 Spruce Street in Sandpoint. Organizers are hoping for a big crowd as Kinderhaven staff, children and board members are surprised with the changes.

It's going to be THE place to be tomorrow — so head on over to Spruce Street and join the celebration.
