Stewart Mason Carr, 55

Stewart Mason Carr, 55, of Sandpoint, Idaho, died suddenly at his father's home in Pendleton on Tuesday, July 11, 2006.

A combined memorial services for Stewart Carr will be held on Saturday, July 15, at 1 p.m. in the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, with his step mother Gwendolyn Carr, who died on July 2.

Stewart Carr was born March 8 1951, in Yakima, Wash., the son of John and Elizabeth (Huckins) Carr.

He was raised and educated in Yakima, Wash., and Portland, Ore., and graduated from Pendleton High School in 1969.

He attended Oregon State University until his enlistment in the United States Navy, serving from 1971 to 1974 in Vietnam.

After his tour of duty, Stewart attended Oregon Technology Institute in Klamath Falls (now O.I.T.), graduating in 1977.

After his graduation he work building Forest Service trails and worked as a civil engineer in Sandpoint, Idaho.

He was working for Schweitzer Ski resort in Sandpoint at the time of his death.

He was an avid skier and backpacker, hiking in South America.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth and stepmother Gwendolyn Carr.

He is survived by his father, John Carr of Pendleton, Ore.; his stepbrother, David Weiss of Portland; his sister, Mary Carr of Portland; his stepsisters, Beverly Cary of Pendleton, Kathie Knopp of Sun City, Ariz.; and Carrie Graham of Waitsburg, Wash.
