Will Allyn 'Al' Nieman, 75
Will Allyn "Al" Nieman, 75, passed away in Spokane, Wash., on Saturday, July 15, 2006.
Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2006, in Coffelt's Funeral Chapel in Sandpoint, Idaho.
Al was born in Milwaukee, Ore., on June 8, 1931, the son of Al and Evelyn Nieman. The family moved to Sandpoint in 1939, where Al attended Sandpoint schools and graduated from high school in 1950.
He attended the University of Idaho in 1951, joining the U.S. Navy in 1952. He served during the Korean War, becoming a dental technician prior to being discharged in 1955.
He lived in the Seattle area and Spokane.
On Sept. 23, 1983, he married Ruth Pierce in Spokane. In 1993, he returned to Sandpoint, establishing Nieman Dental Lab. He retired on June 26, 2006.
Al enjoyed fishing and sharing his sense of humor with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Nieman of Sandpoint; three children, Lori Corbett of Columbia Falls, Mont., Kirk Nieman of Spokane and Bill Nieman of Spokane; two stepchildren, Tracy Pierce of Miami, Fla., and Cole Pierce of Carlisle, Pa.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jon Nieman of Sandpoint. He was preceded in death by his parents and his uncle, Hud Nieman.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Coffelt Funeral Service.
