Thrift store seeking leads on new home

| July 26, 2006 9:00 PM

All of us from Sandpoint Senior Thrift Store wish to give our heartfelt thanks to so many for their help — The Daily Bee, Lakeview Funeral Home, Sandpoint Waste Management, VFW, Knights of Columbus, Friends of the Sandpoint Library, Dover Councilwoman Maggie Becker, John Elsa and his crew, John Porter, Wills Plumbing, Litehouse, KXLY, KPND, KSPT, Tom Nielson of U-Pawn, Mike Hammack and his crew, The Paint Bucket, Columbia Paint, Safeway, Yoke's, Wal-Mart and the more than 70 volunteers who helped us out. Anyone who we may have inadvertently failed to mention, we deeply apologize.

We have been greatly blessed with the support of the community. It has been our pleasure to give back to the community for the past 30 years. This has been the full focus of having the Sandpoint Senior Thrift Store.

These are some of the ways we have been able to give back to the community — Kinderhaven, Women's Gospel Mission, Men's Gospel Mission, Wishing Star Foundation, 20 college scholarships for Sandpoint, Priest River, Clark Fork and Pend Oreille high schools, Habitat for Humanity, Walden House, Sandpoint Senior Center, Shriners, glasses to the Lions Club, craft supplies for after-school activities at the Sandpoint Library, Partners in Care diabetes program, foodbank, school basketball, baseball, football and wrestling, the city skate park and gazebo at Travers Park, Alzheimer's research, money for the Methodist and Catholic food kitchens, stuffed animals for bingo at nursing homes, Tam O'Shanter's adopt-a-family program, Senior Gazette, Toys for Tots, Coats for Kids, Special Olympics and Bonner County Search and Rescue.

We are now in desperate need of a new home for Sandpoint Senior Thrift Store. This could be a place to rent or land to build on. We need to know of a positive location within one month. This will let us know if we will be able to continue to give back to the community.

For any leads, please contact us at 263-1485, 265-9740 or 263-3936. Once again, thank you for all the community support.

Treasurer
