Gladys Lillian "Hommie" (Street) McCaulley, 84, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho, on July 27, 2006.
A visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. on Monday, July 31, 2006, at Coffelt's Funeral Chapel, 109 N. Division St., in Sandpoint.
Private family graveside services will be held at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
Gladys was born Nov. 19, 1921, to Roy Wilson Street and Ethel Maude (Bidwell) Street in Tama County, Iowa.
In October 1946, she married Norman Wilbur McCaulley in Kansas City, Kan. They made their home in University Park, Iowa, until they moved with their young family to Sandpoint in 1957.
Gladys was a retail clerk for nearly 30 years at Ben Franklin, Coast to Coast and Fashion Bug, She retired in 1991.
She enjoyed working in her yard and flowers, playing the piano and organ, crocheting, and spending time with her family. She loved watching baseball and was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs.
Gladys was a member of the Sandpoint United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 50 years, Wilbur McCaulley, in 1993.
She is survived by her children, Richard McCaulley of Post Falls, Idaho, and Linda (Dave) Best of Priest River, Idaho; a sister, Betty Amber of Oskalousa, Iowa; her grandchildren, Adam McCaulley of Corvallis, Ore., Denise (Bradley) Aparicir of Post Falls, Jeff (Belynda) Best of Priest River and Jason (Rebecca) Best of Priest River; and great-grandchildren, Phillip, Justin, Briley, Jordan, Emalee, Jade and Brooklyn.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Coffelt Funeral Service of Sandpoint.
