Louise "Weedee" Robinson Byars, 91, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2006, in Sandpoint, Idaho
Memorial services will be held at The Bridge Assisted Living in Sandpoint, Idaho, at 11:15 a.m., Wednesday, June 7, 2006, with Pastor Tony Nelson officiating.
Louise was born on Oct. 6, 1914, in Waterford, Conn., the daughter of Philip Augustus and Gertrude (Mosier) Robinson.
She was the retired secretary of the Waterford Recreation and Parks Department, being the first woman appointed to the commission. She also was the first woman president of the Waterford Babe Ruth Auxiliary, member of the Waterford Historical Society, Waterford Women's Republican Club, and the Friends of Harkness, a state memorial park. She was a member of the First Congregational Church for more than 50 years where she had held many offices. Louise was an active bowler, active in the Waterford Seniors Club and an active swimmer.
Weedee attended the First Lutheran Church in Sandpoint since 2003, actively bowled, worked at the Church and was a member of the senior citizens.
Survivors include sons, Alan Byars of Sandpoint and Robert Byars of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; and a daughter, Susan Byars of Tulsa, Okla. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl R. Byars; and a son.
