Assessments violate homeowners' rights

| June 7, 2006 9:00 PM

My wife and I feel we have just been violated.

The politicians feel we can't do anything to them so they obfuscate, mislead and blame the other guy whenever they decide to violate our rights as voters. We, the taxpayer, oblige them by just saying we can't do anything about it.

It is correct, when we don't work together as a unit, they win hands down. If you got your assessment notice and anything went up, you can go to the Board of Equalization and officially protest. If we all appeal, and we must all appeal, because if we act individually and some don't appeal, they all win again.

The instant you get a notice of assessment, apply for a hearing before the Board of Equalization. I intend to tomorrow as soon as I get to the county courthouse.

Please don't let them win this time.
