Christian John 'Big John' Doering, 70
Christian John "Big John" Doering, 70, passed away in Spokane, Wash., on June 19, 2006.
Visitation will be at Heritage Funeral Home on Thursday, June 22, 2006, from noon to 5 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, June 23, 2006. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 24, 2006, at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
He was born in Athol, Idaho, on Aug. 27, 1935. John was a graduate of Rogers High School in Spokane and served in the Army.
He worked as a carman for Burlington Northern and Western Fruit Railroad for 35 years.
His hobbies included woodworking and horseback riding.
For more than 22 years, he was a member of AA in Athol and Post Falls, Idaho, serving as the secretary in Post Falls.
He is preceded in death by his parents Soloman and Sadie Doering; and his brother, Darrel Doering. He is survived by his daughter, Doranne Doering; and son, Bernall Doering of Spokane; stepdaughters, Tracy and Lynn; grandsons Ryan and Derick; sister Donna Sasser of Port Townsend, Wash.; brothers Larry Doering Sr. of Spokane and Marion Doering of Spokane Valley, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
We will never forget you. Our family gatherings will not be as bright without you there. Big John, you will be truly missed by your family, friends, and all who came in contact with you. You are loved by all.
