Fergus 'Toby' Therrian, 75
Fergus "Toby" Therrian, 75, passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2006, in Sandpoint, Idaho.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. MDST on Wednesday, July 5, 2006, in Noxon, Mont., at the Noxon High School gymnasium. Pastor Paul Chislom will officiate. Interment will follow in the Noxon Cemetery with military honors.
Toby was born in Allouez, Mich., on July 3, 1930. He attended schools in Michigan, moving to the Silver Valley in Idaho in 1949.
He joined the U.S. Air Force, serving during both the Korean War and Vietnam. He served with the Air Force and the Air Force Reserve for more than 30 years, retiring with the rank of chief master sergeant.
In 1969, he moved to Noxon, Mont., and established Toby's Tavern. He operated the tavern until his retirement in 1995. He continued to be available, at the tavern, and enjoyed visiting with his many friends.
On Sept. 4, 1991, he married Louise J. Filipovich in Honolulu, Hawaii. He enjoyed golf, traveling to Nevada and "playing the machines."
He is survived by his wife, Louise J. Therrian of Noxon, Mont., and Mesa, Ariz.; six children, Gail (Joe) Campbell of Noxon, Dane Therrian of Noxon, Lori Therrian of Naples, Idaho, Vonnie Chevalier of Calumet, Mich., Nettie Therrian of Noxon and Mesa, and Glen Therrian of Tempe, Ariz; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; 10 sisters and five brothers; and his stepmother, Florence Therrian of Osburn, Idaho.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
