Badgers stay alive at state

MERIDIAN — The Badgers scored the game's first eight points and went on to beat their Intermountain League foe for the fourth time in four meetings, this time in a loser-out game at the state 3A tournament at Meridian High.

Spenser Behrens had 21 points and nine rebounds for Bonners Ferry (17-7), and Matt Simpson added 11 points.

Joey Sauer led Kellogg (17-9) with 15 points.

Bonners Ferry plays Buhl (18-6) today at 8:15 a.m. for the consolation title.
