NOTICE OF FILING DEADLINE FOR DECLARATIONS/ PETITIONS OF CANDIDACY FOR THE POSITION OF TRUSTEE OF THE EAST BONNER COUNTY FREE LIBRARY DISTRICT

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN:

"Declaration/ Petition of Candidacy" forms are available March 3 for two positions on the East Bonner County Free Library District Board of Trustees and must be filed with the district clerk on or before 5:00 p.m., Friday, March 17, 2006. A candidate must be a U.S. citizen, over 18 years of age, a qualified elector, and live within the boundaries of the library district. An election will be held Tuesday, May 23, 2006, if more than one person declares their candidacy for a position.

One trustee position, currently held by Marilyn Wudarcki, is available for a five- (5) year term. ANother position, currently held by Robert Teffeteller, is available for a two- (2) year term.

Trustees serve on a five-person board, that meets regularly on the second Monday of each month, and on one or more standing committees. Duties include approval and adoption of library policies, an annual budget, and monthly expenditures; defining services; setting library hours; appointment of a library director; and the application of district resources to meet community needs and library standards.

Any individual who chooses to run as a write-in candidate must file a "Declaration of Intent" no later than 5:00 p.m., Friday, April 28, 2006, the twenty-fifth (25th) day prior to the election.
