Violet June "Bunnie" (Jarnagin) Brown, 79, passed away March 3, 2006, at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2006, at Bonners Ferry Funeral Home, 6485 Harrison St. in Bonners Ferry followed by internment at Paradise Valley Cemetery, then a reception at the Seniors Hospitality Center on Lincoln St.

She was born June 15, 1926, in Winchester, Idaho, to Martin Luther Jarnagin and Elfa Agnes Parker Jarnagin.

She was known as Bunnie to her many friends and family. She has lived at various times in Spokane Wa, and Lewiston, Eastport, Sandpoint, and Post Falls, Idaho, and spent her remaining years in Bonners Ferry.

Bunnie was a lifetime member of the Order Eastern Star and a 50 year member of Pythian Sisters. She graduated from high school at Craigmont, Idaho, in 1944, and from Kinman Business School in Spokane, Wash., in 1946.

She married Chet Brown on June 10, 1950, in Craigmont, Idaho. At that time she devoted her life to raising her family. For many years she enjoyed picking huckleberries, camping, fishing and hunting with her husband. She also enjoyed cooking and needlework where she received many awards for her entries in the Boundary County Fair.

Watching her grandchildren grow and watching them compete in sports were special pleasures to Bunnie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, one brother, a grandson and an infant daughter.

She is survived in death by her husband of 56 years, Chester Neil Brown of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; and children Janet (Harold) Shobe of Post Falls, Neil Wayne (Diane) Brown of Spokane, Karen (Les) Wright of Warrenton, Ore., Ruth (Steve) Carey of Bonners Ferry, Martin (Patty) Brown of Mead, Wash., and Richard (Kim) Brown of Bonners Ferry. She was blessed with 17 grandchildren and currently eight great-grandchildren with three more on the way.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bonners Ferry Funeral Home.
