| March 14, 2006 8:00 PM

SANDPOINT — Bonner County is making good on a promise to revisit its newly adopted comprehensive land use plan.

The Planning & Zoning Commission is holding its first annual comprehensive plan review on Thursday. The special meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at the Bonner County Courthouse.

County commissioners adopted a projected land use map in December of last year and pledged to revisit the plan this spring.

To update the plan and keep costs under control, the county established a policy to meet annually to examine the plan and determine whether modifications are necessary.

The annual review take place prior to budget workshops in case funding is needed.

Specific items slated for discussion include the urban/suburban growth area west of Sandpoint; the Sagle corridor development, waterfront density; the Idaho Department of Lands request for review of land use map designations for certain unconsolidated land holdings; and lands listed for potential sale by the U.S. Forest Service.

The planning commission will also consider public input on revisions or corrections to the land use map or other components of the plan. Citizens can submit written comments to the Bonner County Planning Department or attend the meeting.
