Why are developers more desirable than geese?

The city of Sandpoint wants to remove or relocate the geese at City Beach because of their aggressive behavior and their destructive droppings.
The developers in Sandpoint also are very aggressive in their plans to fill Sandpoint to the point of overflow with their droppings (those large ostentatious houses in sterile subdivisions), but the city seems to welcome the developers with open arms.
Since when are geese less desirable to have in our city than developers?
Perhaps if the geese had more money to contribute to the local economy they would be allowed to stay.
