PRIEST RIVER — The visiting Post Falls Trojans came away with a win after five innings against the Priest River Spartans, 13-1.

Both teams have yet to get much practice time on the fields, but the Trojans swung the bats well against the Spartan's pitchers.

"I was real happy with the at bats offensively," said Trojan coach Mick Zeller. He said his pitchers threw well and showed some great velocity.

Heath Wardrop mustered the only single for the Spartans.

The Trojans (1-0) face off against the Lewiston Bengals for a doubleheader on Thursday, 1:30 p.m. The Spartans (0-1) host Kellogg in league action for a doubleheader on Saturday, 11 a.m.
