Allen Duane Bricker, 66

| March 30, 2006 8:00 PM

Allen "Al" Duane Bricker, 66, beloved father, friend and brother, died March 27, 2006, in Sandpoint, Idaho, as the result of an accident.

Al was born in Dover, Idaho, on Dec. 28, 1939. and became a master mechanic, working in Washington and Idaho most of his life.

Al was a creative, inventive North Idaho version of "MacGyver." A mechanical genius, his nickname was "Tricky Al" because he could "trick out" or fix anything, from a watch to heavy equipment.

Al loved the outdoors and it is where he was the happiest when he could just get in his truck and take off and go on an adventure as he liked to do and get away. He knew every back road, fishing hole and secret huckleberry patch in Bonner and Boundary counties.

He will be missed deeply for when he entered a room it would light up with his smile, his corny jokes or one of his "wild" stories that he would tell about one of his adventures.

Al is survived by brother Gary of Fall City, Wash., brother Roland of Bullhead City, Ariz., and sister Sandy of Woodenville, Wash.; his children. David Palmer of Yakima, Wash., Richard Bricker of Seattle, Wash., Victoria Schade of Vancouver, Wash., John Bricker of Whidbey Island, Wash., and Lyndsey Jackson of San Diego, Calif.; and granddaughters Ashley and Justine of Portland, Ore., Tynique of Post Falls, Idaho and grandson Spencer of Boston, Mass.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Mildred Bricker of Dover, Idaho; a sister, Janet; and a brother, Eldon.

We love you very much and you will forever be in our hearts!
