George F.P. Woods, 72
George F.P. Woods, 72, of Waldport, Ore. and formerly of Sandpoint, Idaho, passed away April 30, 2006 in Corvallis, Ore.
Services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, May 6, 2006, at the Waldport Foursquare Church.
Born in Billings, Mont., on June 3, 1933, he served 22 yeas in the U.S. Navy as an E7 hospital corpsman, including three tours of Vietnam as well as in Korea and Cuba. He also worked as a Bonner County deputy sheriff.
He married Nancy Larson on Aug. 30, 1975, in Sandpoint.
He was a member of the Waldport Foursquare Church and church council, the Waldport Citizens' Patrol and the FRA. He enjoyed collecting teddy bears and reading.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy L. Woods of Waldport; sister Mary Lou Courser of Sandpoint; sons Nick Woods of Sandpoint, Shaun Woods of Anchorage, Alaska, Robert Woods of Hillsboro, Ore. and Terry Woods of McMinnville, Ore.; five stepsons: Bill Shipley of Banks, Ore., Edward Shipley of Forest Grove, Ore., Paul Johnson of Sandpoint, Wayne Fox of Cheyenne, Wyo. and Dave Fox of Sandpoint; stepdaughter Bobi Turner of Banks, Ore.; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Woods.
