Annual food drive deserves area's continued support

| May 8, 2006 9:00 PM

I am writing this letter to first to thank the community for all everyone does every day for the food bank. There is never a time when we need something.

If we make it known, that you come through for the Food Bank if it is at all possible, and we thank you for that. The group of competent volunteers that help at the food bank every day cannot be surpassed; we enjoy every one of them so much.

May is the month the national letter carriers from the post office ask the community for food donations for food banks and pantries through the United States.

Bonner County has always been very generous and supportive to the food bank in this endeavor. This year there will also be individuals from the First Christian Church and Lake Pend Oreille High School helping by being at the local Yoke's and Safeway also collecting food for the postal food drive.

The postal food drive will be May 13 and individuals will be at the grocery stores on May 12-13.

We ask that you donate what you can to help our neighbors in this county who may be going through a hard time and need some emergency help.

If you have any questions regarding this food drive, please call the food bank and ask for Alice, I will be glad to help you.
