Mueller, Rich are positive voices for conservatism

| May 31, 2006 9:00 PM

A very well deserved thanks to those of area editorial boards and the folks who purport to be advocates for responsible government.

Without your help it is possible that Bud Mueller and Lewis Rich may not have won so handily the recent primary election in Bonner County for commissioner.

Every negative you tried to imagine or fabricate about Bud Mueller was in fact a plus for conservatism. We remember the perceived corrupt building department that Larry Allen and Bud Mueller eliminated in 1997 and there valiant attempt to reduce the size of Bonner County government.

You harp on the money spent by the county on the lawsuits. I would suggest that money was absolute chicken feed compared to the hundreds of thousands of dollars saved by Bonner County property owners by the elimination of the onerous fees and the bureaucratic insolence of the building department. You folks keep up the good work.

Also, keep in mind, government should be a synonym for legalized tyranny, the less we have to endure the better.

Stand by for an all-out effort by the incumbents to attempt to jam the building department in before they leave office in January 2007.
