Timothy Joe McGhee, 63

Timothy Joe McGhee passed away Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2006, at the Kootenai Cancer Center in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

Timmy was the son of Thornton Thurston McGhee of Sandpoint, Idaho, and Emmajean Von Schriltz-Nestor of Fairbanks, Alaska. Both of his parents preceded Timmy in death.

Timmy was born April 21, 1943, at Sand Point NAS in Sand Point, Wash., while his dad was serving in the Navy during World War II.

Timmy is survived by his beloved brother, Terry Thomas McGhee of Sandpoint; sisters Mona Lee McGhee and Bart Nelson of Coeur d'Alene, and Debra Ray McGhee-Hill and Ronald Hill of Cheney, Wash.; a stepmother, Carolyn McGhee-Singer; with very special mention for Randy and Anne Prater, John and Gail Lannet, Gene and Mebble Hanson, Lanny and Shirley Kelsey, Mike James and Sandy Winslow and Jerry and Jackie Carroll.

Timmy was planning his marriage to Lorrane Nixon of Castlegear, British Columbia, Canada, with honeymoon in Nova Scotia.

Timmy's children are Timmy Joe, Tanya Jean, Olivia Elizabeth; grandchildren of Timmy are Joseph, Timothy, Anthony, Olivia, Destiny and Jesse, all of Los Angeles, Calif.; godson, Franklin Carroll of Fairbanks, Alaska; numerous family members, Uncle Floyd and Aunt Mickie McGhee family of Sandpoint, who made their home Timmy's after his father's death; niece and nephews, Shelly and Todd McGhee-Root family of Roseburg, Ore., Todd T. and Debi McGhee family of Chino Hills, Calif.; Cor' Dlaine D. McGhee of Las Vegas, Nev., Wayne R. Kocher of Tacoma, Wash., Jeffrey J. Geenen of Spokane Valley, Wash., Travis Carter and family of Bend, Ore., Troy J. McGhee of Spokane, Wash., and Angelia Kutil of Anchorage, Alaska; cousins, Bobbie McGhee of Yuma, Ariz., Tommy and Fran McGhee of Sandpoint, Ted and Marge McGhee of Battle Ground, Wash., Linda and Gary Kutil of Anchorage, Jimmy Berry of Sandpoint, Bill and Mariane Berry of Sun City, Ariz., Mike and Cheryl Matero, Rocky and Jackie Matero of Seattle, Wash., Fred and Carla Darnell, Neil Bergstrom of Sandpoint.

Pallbearers will be Randy Prater, Lanny Kelsey, Gene Hanson, Ronald Hill, Teddy J. McGhee and Rocky Matero. Honorable pallbearers are Mike, Jerry, Carroll and James Winslow.

Timmy lived, loved, hunted and fished all of his 30 years in Alaska., His extended family of "brothers and sisters" of Alaska.

Timmy's very dear friends include, in Fort Yukon, Charlie and Betty Barr of Anchorage, Mimi Thomas and family, Larry and Gail Schanders of Fairbanks, Peggy Buchanan, Gwen Borland, Betts Costello of Fairbanks, Jack and Mary Dial of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Don Dotson of Tacoma, Owen Walker of Bullhead City, Doug Cather of Anchorage, Walter and Kathy Elliott of Pie Town, N.M., Eddie and Charlene Elliott of Bozeman, Mont., Jim Winslow of Fairbanks, and Bob and Carleema Thornton of Mesquite, Nev.

Lifelong high school friends include, Pat and Teri Arcuri of Bullhead City, Ariz., John and Joann Barnett of San Diego, Calif., Patty Braudrick of Bullhead City, and Ed and Trish Sinclair of Portland, Ore.

Timmy served proudly with his brother on board the same U.S. Navy ship, USS Tulare AKA 112 from 1960 to 1964. They both had many stories of their service together. Timmy retired from Teamsters Local 959 in Alaska after 30 years of working in Alaska.

Timmy also leaves behind many friends at Weaver Brothers Trucking, where he worked for 18 years and was a union steward before retiring. Thank you, Jimmy Doyle. He was a 20-year member of the Eagles Aerie 1037 in Fairbanks.

Services will be in Sandpoint, Idaho, where Timmy will be interred next to his father at Pinecrest Memorial park overlooking Lake Pend Oreille. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006, in Coffelt's Funeral Chapel.

Friends may call to pay their respects on Monday, Nov. 6, 2006, from noon to 6 p.m. and on Tuesday morning until service time.

Services will be provided by Dale Coffelt, Coffelt Funeral Services, 109 N. Division, Sandpoint.

Should we have missed any others, please understand that our brother had a very wonderful and full life. He never tired of being a people person. God bless our family, and all of you.
