Franklin Carter Lee

Frank Lee passed away peacefully at his home in Spokane Valley, Wash., on Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006. He was 68 years old.

Frank was born in Ponderay, Idaho, to Harry and Cassie Lee and was the eighth child in a family of 10 children.

He attended Sandpoint area schools and remained in Sandpoint where he met Lorene Sanders. They were married on his 21st birthday at the United Methodist Church in Sandpoint and shared their lives together until his death 47 years later.

They raised two children in Sandpoint before relocating to other homes in Oregon, Washington, Alaska, and more recently back to the Spokane Valley.

Survivors include his wife, Lorene; son and daughter-in-law, Rocky and Kelly Lee; daughter, Dawn Lee; grandchildren, Kaitlin, Ross and Edward Lee; sisters, Betty Stiner, Rosanna Sharp, and Joyce Alford; and brother, Terry Lee. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers Harry Jr., Robert (Dutch), and Jimmy; and his sisters, Lila Roberts and Shirley Price.

Frank was a professional truck driver for more than 50 years and loved living, working, and being outdoors in the Pacific Northwest.

He was devoted to his immediate and extended family and was a positive, fun-loving and stabilizing influence for many of his nieces and nephews. Frank lived his life on his own terms and was truly loved, cherished, and respected for it by all who knew him.

A chapel service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2006, at the Coffelt Funeral Home, on Division Street, in Frank's hometown of Sandpoint. Memorials may be made to Horizon Hospice, 123 W. Cascade, Spokane, WA 99208.
