Yvonne Elizabeth Keltner, 88
Yvonne Elizabeth Keltner, 88, passed away, Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006, in Sandpoint, Idaho.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006, at the First Lutheran Church in Sandpoint with Pastor Dave Olson officiating. Inurnment will take place in the Lakeview Cemetery.
Yvonne was born Feb. 10, 1918, in Brussels, Belgium, to Carl and Lucie (DeFrenne) Neufahrt. She grew up and attended schools in Germany. She married Earnst Boehm in 1942 in Germany, where they were later divorced.
Yvonne got a job through Hubert Wayne Keltner as secretary and interpreter for the American military government.
They were living in Budingen at that time and on June 7, 1947, they were married by the mayor.
The family immigrated to the United States, first to Mill Valley, Calif., and then to Missoula, Mont., where Hubert received his master's degree.
The family lived in Libby, Mont., from 1953-1965 and then in Twin Falls, Idaho, for the next 26 years.
In 1991, Yvonne and Hubert moved to Sandpoint to be closer to family.
Over the years Yvonne worked as a librarian in Missoula and in Twin Falls at the high school and at the College of Southern Idaho.
She also worked as a secretary to the school superintendent in Libby.
After retirement, she and Hubert loved to travel making several trips back to Europe and some in the United States.
She loved music, played the piano and sang in the Presbyterian Church choir in Libby and Twin Falls, and was a member of the Magic Valley Choral.
Yvonne was a beautiful seamstress; she enjoyed reading, decorating her house, and hosting parties.
She is survived by her cousin, Werner Graulich of Budingen, Germany; a daughter, Brigitte (Corky) Sanborn of Sandpoint; three grandsons, Chase (Cathleen) Sanborn of Wallace, Idaho, Del (Susan) Sanborn of Wallace, and David (Courtney) Sanborn of Sandpoint; four great-grandchildren, Jimmy and Erica Chambers of Wallace and Logan and Chandler Sanborn of Sandpoint.
She is also survived by special friends of the family Heidi, Juliane, and Barbel Boehm of Rosenkopf, Germany, Savannah Cummings of Sandpoint, and her extended family of care givers at Life Care.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Hubert in 2000.
