Robert R. Leachman, 97

Robert Roscoe Leachman was born Dec. 26, 1908, at Lewiston to Frank and Annie Roscoe Leachman of Sweetwater, Idaho. Dad always said "Santa brought me!"

He married Anna May Kole Jan. 30, 1930, in Lewiston. She passed away Feb. 1, 1991, in Sandpoint, Idaho, where they moved in 1971 after Robert retired from Potlatch Corp.

He played fiddle for dances in Morrowtown, Woodside, Forest and all over the Winchester area. He also played at the Lewiston and Sandpoint Eagles Lodges. He played at the Somerville Home and Orchards Nursing Home before The Idaho Old Time Fiddlers organized.

He belonged to the Lewiston, Sandpoint and Prairie Old Time Fiddlers and was chairman of the Sandpoint group. He was a Lewiston Golden Eagle.

Robert is survived by his children, Robert L. Leachman and wife Edna Fay of St. Maries and Chandler, Ariz., Joetta Pfeifer of Mission Creek near Culdesac, and Darlene Williams and husband John of Lewiston; grandchildren, Danny and wife Carol Leachman, Dean and wife Collette Leachman, John Raymond Pfeifer and wife Debbie, Jackie Easton and husband Scott, Jeanne Bailey and husband Bob, Ron Pfeifer and wife Judy, Susan Graham, Robert Pfeifer and wife Lila, and Mary Pfeifer; step-grandchildren, Sherri Boyd and husband Jon, and Shawn Wright; and brother-in-law, Harry Kole and wife Vera.

He was preceded in death by his wife; three grandsons, Raymond Pfeifer, Buddy Pfeifer and Donny Leachman; all of his brothers and sisters, Alford, Frank, Earl, Harley, Elvin, Dora, Nora, Kelly and Edna; and sons-in-law, George Pfeifer and John Pfeifer.

The family would like to send their sincere gratitude to the staff at Orchards Nursing Home in Lewiston for the wonderful care they provided.

A celebration of Robert's life will take place at a later date.
