Sandpoint beats Northwest Christian in soccer match

| October 6, 2006 9:00 PM

SANDPOINT — Daniel Anderson scored on a penalty kick, and Alex Crossingham bent a free kick that bounced off the goalie to give Sandpoint a 2-1 victory over Northwest Christian in their final tune up before districts.

"We moved the ball really well and controlled the tempo and possession," said coach Randy Thoreson, who juggled his line up quite a bit for the game. "We wanted to get a goal or two and get guys out; no injuries or cards."

The Bulldogs (7-9-2) have quietly won four straight, and can now relax and root for Lake City to beat Moscow on Saturday, which would give them a bye next Wednesday. They would face the winner of Lakeland and Moscow on Friday. If Moscow wins, the Bulldogs will have to play on Wednesday.
